Frequently asked questions

How much do you charge?

I use clear, simple and transparent pricing, just as it should be! You don't need to wait around for a quote, please see my packages for the full breakdown and prices

Are you insured? 

Yes I am. I have full public liability insurance.

Is your equipment PAT (Portable Appliance Tested)?

Yes it is. I get all my equipment and requisite power leads tested annually by a great local company.

What about risk assessments and method statements?

Some venues require this documentation and I am more than happy to provide these on request. 

How far do you travel?

I travel only within Sussex. I do still take on further afield work, however there will be a surcharge for travel at .45 per mile after the Sussex boarder. 

Can you play all types of music?

I certainly can, it's what I love doing the most!

Will you make announcements?

Certainly yes but I generally keep chat on the mic to a minimum. 

Can we use your mic and PA for the speeches?

Yes absolutely. You'll have the option to play an ipod too. This will require an early set up, please see packages here.

Can we supply a playlist?

For sure, I'm great at reading the party but I encourage you to supply your favourite tunes, must plays and must not plays.

Do you take requests on the night?

Yes, my philosophy is if I have it I'll play it! I announce on the microphone guests are welcome to ask me for any requests they would like to hear. The only reasons I wouldn’t play a guest request is because the request is on your 'must not' play list, it’s a song that's likely to clear the dance floor or the song is inappropriate.

What's your set up?

I use up to date and reliable equipment to ensure you have an awesome party.  Please see the 'kit' page for the full breakdown.

What do you wear?

I dress very smartly in a dark suit and waste coat. However, if your party is themed then I'll get into character. 

If you're unavailable can you supply another quality DJ?

Yes I certainly can. I have a pool of great DJs who are all very talented. 

How does the set up work?

I need around an hour to set up my sound & lighting equipment and I will arrive an hour before the start time. If that’s not early enough, I do offer an option for an early set up. See my packages for the full breakdown and prices

How does payment work?

We'll send you an two invoices, one for the retainer reservation fee and one for the remaining payment. Payment is by BACS.

How much is the retainer reservation fee?

It's 10% of the full fee. Please refer to our T&Cs for a full breakdown. 

That's all great! How can I book you?

Just complete the booking form. I recommend booking as early as you can as I do get booked up many months in advance. I'll hold the booking for 7 days from the day I receive the booking form. When I have received the retainer reservation fee, I will seal your booking in the diary. Full payment is required 14 days prior to the event.
